COVID-19 Delta variant has already spread to 13 PH regions

Almost all regions in the Philippines now have confirmed cases of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant, said Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
In a public briefing, Vergeire announced that Metro Manila, the country’s capital region, has the highest Delta case count at 146. Calabarzon follows with 47 infections, Central Luzon with 39, Central Visayas with 37, and Western Visayas with 36.
The Health Undersecretary noted that the areas of Mimaropa, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and BARMM are the only places left without reported cases.
The Southeast Asian country has 450 recorded infections to date, with 426 already recovered. Active cases are now left at 13, while one is still being verified. The current death toll from the Delta variant is at 10.
