CSX partners with TCS to outsource IT jobs

American holding company CSX Corp. is partnering with India-based Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to outsource about 137 jobs in its information technology (IT) services.
In a statement, CSX said that TCS will be providing operation, maintenance, and support services for their IT systems to keep up with advances in technology.
“This strategic decision will ensure CSX remains a transportation industry leader in both [technological] performance and innovation, as we pursue our goals for safety, service, reliability, and business growth,” the firm added.
The transition, which began in mid-April this year, will be phased in over four to six months. CXS promised their affected in-house employees an opportunity to join TCS and continue to provide support services to the company.
This comes as the rail-based transportation supplier brought in new leadership for its technology services. Last April, CSX hired Steve Fortune as its new executive VP and Chief of Digital And Technology “to unlock growth and enable continued efficiency across the business.”
