Czech delegation seeks PH partnerships

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — A business delegation from the Czech Republic is currently in the Philippines to explore possible business opportunities in technology, transportation and energy sectors.
The delegation is led by Czech Republic’s Chamber of Deputies Deputy Speaker Jan Skopeček and is accompanied by Czech Chamber of Commerce Vice President Michal Štefl.
During the first part of the delegation’s 2023 Business Conference and B2B Event, Štefl said they are keen to explore business opportunities in the Philippines, which is considered a “great potential haven of investments” by Czech companies.
“What is interesting with Czech production is that we have western quality and eastern prices, so it is quite a good combination for some interested parties, but also we are thinking about playing the role of investors as well, like in energy, for example,” he added.
The CzechTrade Philippines was also introduced at the event as a governmental trade promotion organization founded by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
CzechTrade Philippines Director Ondřej Puchinger said that they expect to bring about 30 to 50 new business partners in 2023 with collaboration from local associations and business clubs.
