Data-driven strategies to combat talent constraints, skills gaps

ATLANTA, UNITED STATES — A study commissioned by consulting firm North Highland from Forrester Consulting highlighted the importance of data-driven strategies to combat talent constraints and skills gaps.
The report — done through a survey of 687 leaders across 12 industries in the U.S. and the UK — called attention to the need for evidence-based planning and collaboration to face upcoming workforce challenges.
Of all respondents, 40% said they are struggling to find the right talent for their organization. Meanwhile, 59% admitted seeking a transformation partner to deal with talent market uncertainties.
At the same time, 51% of those surveyed said their future of work strategies are usually planned five or more years ahead.
Resistance to change within corporate culture is significant, with 35% saying their culture does not enable change and 52% recognizing resistance across their organization.
North Highland CEO Alex Bombeck emphasized the importance of adaptability in uncertain times. He noted the role of transformation partners in successfully executing future-of-work strategies, especially when informed by data.
“In today’s uncertain times, we know that being Made for Change is critical to ensure the future health of any organization,” he stated.
The report also noted that a collaborative, data-driven approach is crucial for businesses to navigate the evolving talent market landscape successfully.
