Davao training out-of-school youth for BPO jobs

The City of Davao is partnering with the Department of Labor and Employment to train out-of-school youth to prepare them for employment, especially in business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.
The Davao City Council has granted its mayor authority to sign a memorandum of agreement with the labor department for the implementation of the Jobstart Philippines Flagship Program. The program aims to provide skills training to out-of-school youths. After the training, they will be eligible for employers to hire them based on the skills they are trained for.
BPO companies have expressed interest in hiring these youths after training. The trainees will undergo ten days of mentoring before proceeding to two to three months of training.
