Denmark to develop wind assets in PH

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Denmark’s largest wind energy companies are looking at exploring business opportunities in the Philippines.
Speaking to reporters, Danish Ambassador to the Philippines Franz-Michael Melbin said Danish renewable energy firms are interested in onshore and offshore wind energy projects, small modular reactors, waste-to-energy, and biomass projects in the Philippines.
The growing interest from Denmark comes after the amendments to the Philippines’ Renewable Energy Act, which now allows 100 percent ownership of projects for foreign investors.
Danish firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners recently signed three offshore wind energy projects with the Philippine Department of Energy.
These projects, worth US$5 billion, will be located in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Northern Samar, Pangasinan, and La Union.
