Dialpad bets $50M on AI to transform business communications

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Cloud communications platform Dialpad has pledged a $50 million investment into its new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Labs initiative.
The move aims to enhance Dialpad’s AI capabilities in order to revolutionize business communications solutions.
Its AI-powered unified communications platform integrates voice, video, messaging, and contact center functionality. Key features include real-time call transcription, virtual agents, and AI customer satisfaction (CSAT) for gauging customer satisfaction.
“The goal is for a company to be able to consolidate all their communications around Dialpad,” Craig Walker, CEO and founder of Dialpad, told VentureBeat.
“The secret sauce that ties all of that together is the artificial intelligence that is built into that core platform.”
The $50 million injection will further develop features like an AI-based net promoter, account health scoring, and a recruiter screening tool. Dialpad also plans to tap generative AI to personalize customer interactions in real-time.
“We’re going to invest an incremental $50 million into R&D [research and development], on top of everything we’re already doing, to keep pushing limits,” Walker said.
“We truly want to use that investment in AI to help our customers get insights on how to run a better business.”
With over 3 billion minutes of conversational data gathered so far, Dialpad is betting big on AI to enhance user experiences.
