DigiCOOP, ADVANCE.AI to boost PH digital, financial inclusion

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Online platform digiCOOP is partnering with Singapore-based tech startup ADVANCE.AI to provide digital and financial services for its members.
With 12 federations and over a hundred cooperatives using its platform, digiCOOP now services over 1.3 million labor union workers and farmers in the Philippines.
ADVANCE.AI, on the other hand, specializes in digital identity verification to power smooth and seamless customer onboarding.
DigiCOOP Founder and Creator Anna Cuisia said their partnership with ADVANCE.AI supports their vision of helping unbanked and underserved Filipinos to participate in a lively digital and financial ecosystem.
“Our goal is to reduce systemic inefficiency and lack of financial inclusion by increasing the 20% banked Filipino families to at least 50% within five years,” Cuisia said.
ADVANCE.AI Philippines Country Manager Michael Calma is excited about the partnership as it advances their mission of digital and financial accessibility for the grassroots.
“Nowadays, the traditional customer onboarding process is simple, secure and can be completed entirely on their mobile phone. All they need to join the digiCOOP platform is a national identity document and an internet connection,” Calma explained.
Aggregated services currently offered on the DigiCOOP platform include loan application, credit scoring, digital banking, insurance and investment, bill and online payment services, and e-learning opportunities.
