Digital transformation key to BPO sector’s rebound

Accenture senior managing director Ambe C. Tierro said that digital and workforce transformation in outsourcing, instead of cost cutting, will be the key to the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry’s recovery.
Tierro said that the outsourcing workforce must not just be productive, but “thrive” while working in digital. This means making investments in cloud technologies, as investments in virtual tools allows the workforce to shift to a digital work-from-home environment more easily.
Further, ING Bank N.V. Manila’s country manager Hans Sicat noted that digital transformation is a multi-year process, adding that there must be ample budget for this transformation, and that companies “have to look at the appropriate talent and human resources to help you along in this journey.”
