Dubai’s GITEX summit highlights digital transformation

The Gitex Global Leaders Vision Summit in Dubai highlighted the digital transformation of several industries in the world.
On its first day, leaders agreed that Africa’s young talent base is expected to lead the shift by powering offshore services in several countries including Egypt. Ghana is also forecasted to lead the bridging of the digital gender divide.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and IT Dr. Amr S. Talaat revealed that the country’s ITC Vision 2030 will transform the nation into a world-leading digital services exporter.
Dr. Talaat disclosed that the vision is already producing results with 3,000 software engineers exporting their services to Europe’s automotive industry. About 2,500 electronic engineers working in government design hubs are also collaborating with 50 companies.
UAE Head of Cyber Security Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti also noted their government’s progress in addressing the ongoing cyber-pandemic.
In addition, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) also showcased several smart initiatives that will help the transportation sector in the city.
