Egypt’s largest tech job fair creates 700 jobs
CAIRO, EGYPT — The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has concluded the 14th edition of its IT Employment Fair (IEF), the largest tech job event in Egypt’s history.
Held online in October, the fair attracted over 8,000 active participants, connecting job seekers with leading employers in the country’s rapidly growing IT sector.
Global tech giants seek Egyptian talent
The virtual event brought together 35 top employers, including 20 multinational companies and 15 local firms, offering more than 700 job opportunities. Roles spanned across high-demand fields such as software development, embedded systems, and digital transformation.
With over 13,000 registrants and 8,189 attendees actively participating, the fair highlighted Egypt’s commitment to fostering career awareness and bridging the gap between academia and industry.
ITIDA CEO Ahmed ElZaher emphasized the significance of the event. “Egypt is committed to nurturing a pool of local digital talent capable of driving innovation and economic development. Through specialized training programs, we aim to prepare our youth for roles in digital transformation, the offshoring industry, and beyond,” he stated.
Egypt’s skilled IT professionals in high demand
The fair underscored a rising demand for tech talent in Egypt. Full stack developers were the most sought-after role, accounting for nearly 12% of all job openings.
Other high-demand positions included Design engineers (8.55%), CRM engineers (6.13%), mobile applications developers (6.13%), back-end developers (5.27%), software testing engineers (4.4%), and data scientists (4.13%).
These figures reflect the increasing need for advanced technical expertise to support Egypt’s thriving IT sector.
Professional development bridges industry gap
To further equip participants, ITIDA hosted workshops on resume writing, interview techniques, and career development strategies.
These sessions aimed to empower job seekers with practical skills needed to compete in a globalized tech market.
ICT sector drives economic growth in Egypt
Egypt’s ICT sector continues to lead as the fastest-growing state sector for six consecutive years. Strategic investments in digital transformation, government support for innovation, and a skilled talent pool have positioned Egypt as a global outsourcing hub.
The country’s outsourcing exports surged from $2.4 billion to $3.7 billion within a year, reflecting its growing appeal to international businesses.
The success of this year’s IT Employment Fair reinforces Egypt’s ambition to become a global technology hub while creating meaningful opportunities for its workforce in the digital age.
