Ensemble boosts healthcare AI with Microsoft partnership
OHIO, UNITED STATES — Revenue cycle management firm Ensemble Health Partners (Ensemble) has partnered with tech giant Microsoft to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for healthcare providers through Ensemble’s proprietary platform, EIQ.
Boosting the capabilities of Ensemble’s EIQ platform
Ensemble’s EIQ platform utilizes Microsoft Azure’s Generative AI (GenAI) and machine learning technologies to automate processes and streamline revenue cycle management across the healthcare industry.
With over $100 million invested and two million development hours, EIQ harmonizes data from hundreds of different systems. It provides insights that can be integrated into electronic health records (EHRs), effectively streamlining healthcare delivery.
“Our models are informed by thousands of variables and consume billions of transactions. The greater the volume and variety of data, the more complete and valuable models become – providing better and faster insights at the point of decision,” said Ensemble’s Chief Technology Officer Grant Veazey.
“Our partnership with Microsoft allows us to deploy hundreds of generative AI models quickly and safely to the millions of healthcare transaction[s] we process daily.”
In 2023, Ensemble prevented over $200 million in lost revenue for clients through its AI engine The company’s top priorities include generating tailored appeal letters in seconds and improving cash collections through GenAI.
Ensemble’s pact with Beebe Healthcare
Ensemble’s partnership with Microsoft follows its deal with Beebe Healthcare in March. Ensemble has agreed to manage Beebe’s end-to-end revenue cycle operations, allowing the latter to focus on delivering top-notch services to its local community.
The partnership aligns with an increasing trend among healthcare providers to outsource revenue cycle management (RCM) to experienced firms. With this new collaboration, Ensemble now manages $30 billion in annual net patient revenue.
Ensemble’s recent survey found that 95% of healthcare executives would consider end-to-end managed services, and 60% preferred partnering with a single firm.
Ensemble offers revenue cycle management services for over 250 healthcare institutions in the United States. It employs over 9,000 certified revenue cycle operators who utilize data and AI-equipped systems.
