Eventbrite to outsource roles outside U.S.

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Ticketing platform Eventbrite announced its plans to relocate 30% of its developmental roles and nearly all of the customer support and operations roles to locations outside the United States (U.S.).
This news was revealed after the firm said they would lay off eight per cent of their workforce to cut costs amid worries of an economic downturn.
As of December 31, 2022, Eventbrite had 881 full-time employees, 508 of which were based in the U.S.
With this restructuring plan, the ticketing service provider expects to incur total costs of about $12 million to $20 million, pre-tax. The company also expects the entire process to be completed by the end of the year.
Eventbrite joins a growing list of firms in the U.S. that have reduced their workforce in the face of recessionary fears.
Last week, Eventbrite reported a 20% rise in fourth-quarter revenue, benefiting from improved paid ticket volumes. Its full-year 2023 revenue predictions now fall between $312 million and $330 million.
