Investment Fiji: BPO industry to employ 25K by 2030

SUVA, FIJI — Fiji‘s rapidly expanding Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry is expected to employ around 25,000 Fijians by 2030.
According to Investment Fiji, this growth is fueled by major industry players in the country, such as Pacific Centrecom, which is launching three new offices across Fiji atop its Suva headquarters.
Aside from contributing to the country’s employment sector, Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty said this expansion positions Fiji as an emerging hub for outsourcing services.
Meanwhile, outsourcing companies Vuvale Outsourcing and Pepper Advantage are also expanding in Fiji. Chetty noted that Pepper Advantage, in particular, is generating large-scale employment through major investments, positively impacting Fiji’s development.
Through these expansions and additions of new BPO organizations, Fiji is currently expecting about 3,000 new seats in the next two years.
Chetty added that Investment Fiji is closely collaborating with Outsource Fiji to boost the sector further and draw more investments in the country.
Fiji is now strategically positioned as the top offshore outsourcing destination in the Pacific. The industry already contributes AUD$160 million (US$105 million) annually to the economy, and projections show that it will rapidly triple in the next few years.
