Fiji outsourcing set to grow with Starlink partnership

SUVA, FIJI — Fiji’s outsourcing sector is poised for major expansion following a pioneering government partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet.
Outsource Fiji’s Executive Director Sagufta Janif said the collaboration will “revolutionize Fiji’s ICT infrastructure.”
The Starlink deal provides nationwide access to advanced satellite technology, enabling exceptional reliability.
“The improved infrastructure showcases Fiji as an attractive option for global companies seeking risk diversification in business continuity planning,” Janif added.
Reliable, high-speed connectivity allows Fiji to pursue global opportunities better and expand its digital services exports.
Moreover, the satellite-powered infrastructure reaches remote zones overlooked by traditional internet providers, helping bridge the digital divide in the nation.
Outsource Fiji and Starlink’s partnership is just one of the country’s efforts to boost its outsourcing industry. Last July, Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica shared that the government is allocating $2.5 million in funding to prioritize and bolster its local outsourcing industry.
Outsource Fiji also launched an online scholarship program in collaboration with micro-learning provider Learning Planet to enhance professional development in the BPO sector.
Moreover, the government and Outsource Fiji are gearing up for the EXO Fiji event to promote the nation as an attractive outsourcing destination and hub for the Asia Pacific region.
