Firstsource buys TeleMedik to boost U.S. digital health reach

MUMBAI, INDIA, and SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — Firstsource Solutions, a global business process management (BPM) firm, has acquired Puerto Rico-based technology firm TeleMedik.
The strategic move significantly enhances Firstsource’s integrated healthcare offerings for United States health plans by combining advanced digital platforms with expanded clinical operations to address rising costs and shifting care models.
TeleMedik deal deepens Firstsource U.S. healthcare footprint
Firstsource is a subsidiary of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. It is a global provider offering transformational customer lifecycle solutions across major sectors such as healthcare and financial services through its worldwide presence and UnBPO makehouse to help clients achieve their results.
The company’s domain teams integrate technology and analytics to deliver scalable, future-oriented solutions that turn complex challenges into tangible results to its over 34,000 Firstsourcers across 10 countries.
On the other hand, TeleMedik has worked for over 26 years to promote easy access to healthcare through fair telehealth options.
The organization serves a massive system comprising more than 40 service lines and 500 multidisciplinary professionals, supported by a proprietary software suite and 24-hour bilingual support.
Value‑based care, rising healthcare costs in focus
The global trend in the industry towards a value-based care model requires more individualized, outcome-oriented member engagement, which is driving payers to adopt enhanced technological solutions.
Firstsource positions the combined entity to address these dual challenges by modernizing the full medical management lifecycle.
The integrated service model is intended to help payers enhance care coordination, member participation, and data integration without compromising operational efficiency.
This will enable health plan clients to promote key capabilities without a large in-house investment, thereby addressing both cost pressures and the transition to value-based care.
Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of RPSG Group and Firstsource, notes, “We welcome TeleMedik to the Firstsource team and look forward to collaborating on achieving greater improvements and efficiencies for payers, providers, and members alike.”
AI, BPaaS, and telehealth capabilities under one platform
Firstsource brings its market-leading AI, automation, and differentiated business-process-as-a-service (BPaaS) offerings.
“Our company has built a significant presence in the U.S. healthcare space as well as an unmatched digital offering, and this strategic acquisition further elevates our capabilities and amplifies our reach across the industry,” said Goenka.
At the same time, TeleMedik contributes its pioneering technological solutions and a strong operational presence in Puerto Rico and around the U.S., particularly within payer-provider networks.
The combined technology stacks aim to drive significant gains in core administration and utilization management efficiency, enhancing speed-to-proficiency.
In addition, the acquisition strategically enhances Firstsource’s deep penetration in vital growth areas, including Medicaid and Medicare Advantage, through the TeleMedik platform, which is well-suited to serve Spanish-speaking and underrepresented communities.
The single model aims to enhance clinical decision-making and member performance while minimizing administrative pressures and operational risk to clients.
“We look forward to joining the Firstsource family and leveraging the company’s global reach, deep technology investments, and expanded delivery capabilities so that together we can best serve our health plan clients and the greater healthcare industry,” said Joaquín Fernández-Quintero, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at TeleMedik Group.
Firstsource ranked #30 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies. The 2026 edition of the OA500 is expected to be released in March.
