Flō Networks buys American Tower’s Mexican fiber business
TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Digital infrastructure provider Flō Networks, formerly known as Transtelco, has acquired ATC Holding Fibra México or redIT, American Tower’s fiber business in Mexico.
The merger significantly augments Flō’s ability to transport high-capacity data across the Americas using its unique and diverse routes.
With a presence in over 40 cities throughout Mexico, redIT has a robust fiber optic network. “The combination of these two unique and complementary networks will enable redIT’s dense metro footprints throughout Mexico to leverage Flō’s diverse long-haul and metro networks, providing reliable and redundant routes to transport mission-critical data back to the United States and beyond,” said Miguel Fernandez, Flō Networks Chief Executive Officer.
This marks Flō’s third transformational acquisition in three years. The move underscores the company’s role as a high-growth consolidator of digital infrastructure businesses in the region.
The combined company will have over 20,000 miles of fiber connecting nearly 10,000 enterprise buildings across the United States and Mexico.
Flō Networks, established in 2001 as Transtelco, is a prominent provider of digital infrastructure services that connect businesses on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border and throughout the Americas. The company offers managed data and voice services to Fortune 500 companies, as well as telecommunications and cable companies.
