Foreign companies see Bogota as site to relocate operations

More than fifty international companies are considering relocating their operations to Bogota as a nearshore destination to serve the Americas and reduce the risk of interrupted supply chains.
Invest in Bogota, the city’s foreign investment promotion agency, has identified information technology-business process outsourcing (IT-BPO), life sciences, and value-added manufacturing companies from United States, United Kingdom, Canada, China, Japan, Singapore, Spain, France, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and Switzerland that recognize the Colombian capital city as a strategic location for their operations.
“Bogota is an investment destination with a large number of competitive advantages to attract relocated operations. The city has the third most attractive and favorable environment in the region to do business.
It is also the main recipient of foreign direct investment in Colombia and one of the main receivers in Latin America,” said Mauricio Romero, acting Executive Director of Invest in Bogota.
