Four of 10 firms in Spain report higher job turnover levels in the last 12 months

Almost four in 10 or 38.5% of companies in Spain experienced increases in their turnover levels in the last twelve months.
According to a report by recruitment firm Randstad Spain, 77.2% of respondents said that the increase in turnover is caused by many “greater job opportunities” in other companies.
Meanwhile, 31% are afraid of the risks of working in a certain sector — such as the hospital industry — due to furloughs and closures at the height of the pandemic.
Other respondents also believe that companies are losing their workers because they are not meeting their demands, including wage hikes (24.1%) and flexible working arrangements (23.3.%)
Out of all industries, the hospitality sector saw the highest labor turnover rate, up 63.7% year-on-year.
On the other hand, less than 30% of companies in the construction and ICT sectors have seen turnover growth in the last year.
Randstad’s report also revealed that 25.1% of companies expect their turnover levels to grow further, while only 8.7% are leaning toward a decreasing turnover rate in the next year.
