Globe amps 300+ 5G towers in Visayas
Globe Telecom Incorporated continues its steadfast commitment to bring faster connectivity to other municipalities in different parts of the country through the coverage expansion of 302 5G cellular sites in the Visayas region.
The said expansion is meant to ameliorate the rising data traffic in the region.
“Many consumers are becoming interested in 5G because of the benefits that it brings in terms of stronger and faster connections, higher capacity for traffic, and lower latency,” Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business, Darius Delgado said.
Due to the growing 5G availability, Globe logged 73% growth in 5G data traffic for the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2021.
As of end June this year, Globe has logged 2.7 million 5G devices.
In Visayas, Cebu City ranked first in 5G usage, followed by Lapu-lapu city and Mandaue city.
