Google integrates Duet AI into its workspace

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Tech giant Google unveiled its latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Duet AI, which has been integrated into its Google Workspace.
Duet AI for Gmail and Docs allows users to draft emails or word-process documents based on short text prompts. The AI-powered feature generates a complete draft based on inputted text, even pulling in relevant information from previous emails.
Duet AI can also construct a spreadsheet in Google Sheets based on text prompts and generate images for Google Slides.
The new AI-powered tools are part of a new breed of generative AI technology that allows for a new creative element to machine learning technology. The Workspace Labs waitlist has been opened for those interested in testing the products.
Aparna Pappu, General Manager of Google Workspace productivity tools, revealed that since Duet AI’s launch in March, the company had been impressed by the range of applications for which users have been using the feature, including job applications, essays, and formal thank-you notes.
“We’ve been absolutely blown away by the really interesting and clever or creative things that people are doing with this feature,” Pappu stated.
The firm also emphasized that its new tools are intended to enhance productivity rather than replace human interaction.
