Guyana-based BPO to hire 1K employees by year-end

Guyana-based Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) service provider Midas BPO is aiming to employ about 1,000 locals by the end of 2021 and expand its operations in various regions across the country.
In a statement given to reporters, CEO Malcolm Sobers said that expansion is always among the company’s goals and he plans to establish offices in the Linden area, Berbice, and Essequibo.
Meanwhile, Senior Minister for Finance Dr. Ashni Singh visited the New Market Street center of the BPO firm and met Sobers last Tuesday.
Minister Singh disclosed that the government recognizes the BPO sector’s importance in generating employment in Guyana and the government plans to “promote very aggressively” in support of this industry.
