Hard-to-fill job positions in UK up 51% in May

Hard-to-fill job positions in the United Kingdom (UK) grew to 51% in May, according to the latest job market insights published by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).
Hard-to-fill positions are described as unique vacancies being posted on paid sites multiple times with periods of at least two weeks in-between.
Among various sectors, health, IT and telecom, hospitality and catering, administration, and construction & real estate were the most in-demand vacancies since January this year.
Meanwhile, education, finance, consultancy, and marketing & media gained the most employees with 24%, 17%, 17%, and 15%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the percentage of permanent vacancies was at a two-year high in April and May, reaching 80% of job postings.
At the same time, advertised salaries increased in the middle band since the beginning of the year while the lower range decreased. IT & Telecomm positions experienced significant growth in salaries of over £100,000 (US$121,134).
