HCLTech launches first global delivery center in Bihar’s capital

NOIDA, INDIA — IT service provider HCL Technologies (HCLTech) has inaugurated its first global delivery center in Patna, the capital of the Indian state Bihar.
Located in the Udyog Bhawan Complex, this state-of-the-art facility will deliver IT and engineering services for hi-tech and semiconductor companies, marking a significant milestone as HCLTech’s first center in the Indian state of Bihar.
The inauguration ceremony featured notable figures such as Shri Nitish Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, and Shri Santosh Kumar Suman, Hon’ble Minister of Information Technology, along with senior HCLTech executives including Prateek Aggarwal, Chief Financial Officer, and Rahul Singh, COO-Corporate Functions.
Boosting Bihar’s IT sector
The center’s launch marks HCLTech’s entry into Bihar, aligning with the company’s strategy to access quality talent through expansion to new locations in India under its New Vistas program.
The facility is set to house specialized labs and centers of excellence, enhancing HCLTech’s technology innovation capabilities and offering a wide range of services to global clients.
This move is expected to contribute significantly to the local technology ecosystem and talent pool in Bihar.
“This will bring positive changes in the IT sector of Bihar, increase employment opportunities and other IT companies will also be inspired to invest in Bihar,” said Mishra.

Expanding global reach of HCLTech
The launch of the Patna center underscores the company’s commitment to accessing diverse talent pools and contributing to the development of India’s technology landscape beyond traditional tech hubs.
Aggarwal highlighted the strategic importance of the new center, saying, “Bihar has immense potential in terms of availability of quality talent and the center will contribute to HCLTech’s objective of being the preferred digital transformation partner to global enterprises.”
“The center will also contribute to the development of the local technology ecosystem and bring opportunities for local youth,” he added.
HCLTech has a workforce of over 227,000 across 60 countries. It provides industry-leading capabilities in digital, engineering, cloud, and AI, serving clients across major verticals including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare, and retail and CPG.
HCLTech reported revenues of $13.3 billion for the 12 months ending March 2024. It recently secured the #7 spot in the OA500 2024, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
