HCLTech, SAP expand partnership on physical AI solutions

NOIDA, INDIA, and WALLDORF, GERMANY — HCL Technologies announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with SAP to accelerate the adoption of Physical AI solutions that integrate intelligence into real-world industrial operations.
The partnership will focus on developing next-generation use cases in warehouse operations, fleet management, and 3D reality capture, aiming to drive tangible innovation and value for enterprise customers.
Global enterprise AI and cloud leaders
HCLTech has more than 226,500 professionals leading the development of AI, digital, and cloud solutions across key industries, from financial services to life sciences.
Strategic emphasis is reinforced by strong economic performance, with consolidated revenues for the 12 months ending in September 2025 of US$14.2 billion, indicating its paramount importance in large-scale enterprise modernization.
This capacity to implement complex technology solutions finds a natural counterpart in the foundational business software that powers many of those enterprises. The company ranked #12 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
SAP serves as that essential bedrock for global business, having spent over years as a trusted provider in enterprise applications and, now, business AI, integrating everything from finance and supply chain to customer experience (CX).
The company’s enduring relevance is quantified by a cloud user base exceeding 300 million subscribers and a substantial revenue stream of over €34 billion (US$39.6 billion) (non-IFRS) in FY2024, a stability further validated by top-tier MSCI and S&P ESG ratings.
The two industry providers are complementary components of the digital economy: one creates solutions that transform, and the other operates the smart brain that drives that transformation.
Strategic partnership for physical AI innovation
The increased partnership between HCLTech and SAP signifies a deliberate attempt to take AI beyond digital analytics into the physical world of an enterprise’s operations. The companies will co-create solutions to deliver the power of AI directly to industrial and logistical settings, with high-impact areas as a priority.
This includes creating AI-driven extensions for automated warehouse picking and sorting to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy, scaling multi-agent AI modeling to optimize complex fleet operations, and enabling embodied AI for advanced 3D capture and analysis to generate deeper operational insights.
This initiative is framed as pioneering work that merges cognitive robotics with core enterprise systems. “Through our strategic partnership with SAP, HCLTech is pioneering the integration of cognitive robotics with enterprise systems, driving a new era of intelligent automation,” said Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech.
“Through this new collaboration with SAP, we are enabling businesses to transform operations, accelerate innovation, and realize measurable value from automation at scale.”
HCLTech and SAP target real‑world AI outcomes
Dr. Philipp Herzig, CTO of SAP SE, emphasized that integrating Physical AI into real-world business processes advances AI capabilities for greater industry-specific value, particularly in manufacturing and supply chain, with the collaboration accelerating innovation to deliver tangible customer outcomes.
This investment in the next level of Physical AI solutions is accompanied by excellent financial results from HCL Technologies, which highlight the company’s market capabilities and development trajectory.
The extended SAP engagement is a strong indicator to the market that HCLTech is poised to lead practical, value-driven AI innovation for enterprise customers.
As Herzig notes, “Partnering with HCLTech helps us explore this vision and accelerate innovation by delivering tangible outcomes for our customers.”
