Hiring activity in Africa rose by 800% y-o-y

The hiring rate across the African region increased tremendously at a rate of 800% year-on-year in 2021, according to a report by global compliance and payroll solution Deel.
The report stated that this latest figure is more than double the hiring rate for countries outside the continent.
Moreover, the number of job opportunities for software engineers in the region grew almost five times than in 2020.
Using their data to start looking at trends in global hiring, Deel said that there is an ongoing tech hiring boom in the African region.
The company added that the top African countries where hiring is growing are Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya.
Meanwhile, in Latin America, hiring for positions like software engineer and account executive increased by 286% in the second half of 2021.
In the Asia Pacific, the employment rate stood at 227% while the North American region reached 208% between July 2021 and December 2021.
