Howdy.com boosts LATAM access with GeekHunter acquisition
TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Talent sourcing and management provider Howdy.com has acquired GeekHunter, a Brazilian talent marketplace for hiring developers.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Following the agreement, GeekHunter will operate as a subsidiary of Howdy.com to expand the pool of skilled software developers from Latin America (LATAM) that U.S. companies can hire remotely.
The acquisition comes amid increased demand for AI and machine learning skills. It also positions Howdy.com as one of the largest tech hiring service providers in North and South America.
Howdy.com takes a human-centric approach to help companies access top talent in LATAM, handling every detail from sourcing to logistics, reducing the time and risk associated with international hiring. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with six local offices across LATAM.
Jacqueline Samira, CEO of Howdy.com, emphasized the value of the acquisition: “LATAM has proven to have some of the most reliable and technically-sound software engineers in the world. The acquisition of GeekHunter is a pivotal step in powering business growth and creating more opportunity for our businesses and customers.”
GeekHunter is a leader in recruiting top technology talent within Brazil, with over 13,000 companies registered on its platform. Brazilian tech talent ranks highly worldwide, with its data science and technology sectors ranking in the 99th and 87th percentiles, respectively.
As a recruitment provider that connects U.S. companies with LATAM tech workers, GeekHunter adds nearly 400,000 registered candidates to Howdy.com’s services. The combined teams cover over 100 engineering skills ranging from AI development to Python and Java.
Both brands and executive teams will remain separate, sharing resources to meet their customers’ unique needs. Clients include notable names such as Accenture, Amazon, IBM, and Workrise. The two companies anticipate reaching $35 million in combined revenue by 2024.
