HR Path expands UKG practice with Covalence Consulting deal

HR Path expands UKG practice with Covalence Consulting deal

PARIS, FRANCE and ONTRARIO, CANADA —  France-based HR services provider HR Path has expanded its North American footprint and strengthened its UKG capabilities with the acquisition of Covalence Consulting, a United States- and Canada-based HR technology consulting firm.

According to a report from Staffing Industry Analysts, the move underscores the company’s push to deepen its workforce management offerings across the region, although financial terms were not disclosed.

Strategic push into North American HR tech market

The acquisition marks another step in HR Path’s expansion strategy in North America, particularly in the UKG ecosystem, which supports workforce management and human capital operations.

According to the company, the deal is designed to accelerate the growth of its North American UKG practice and reinforce its broader goal of delivering end-to-end digital HR transformation services across the U.S. and Canada.

“HR Path said the acquisition would accelerate the growth and depth of its North American UKG practice, the company’s workforce management platform. The deal also reinforces HR Path’s commitment to delivering end-to-end digital HR transformation across the US and Canada,” the company said in a statement.

Founded in 2014, Covalence Consulting has built its reputation as a human capital management (HCM) consulting and implementation partner.

The firm supports organizations in optimizing HR, payroll, and workforce management systems through tailored implementations and strategic advisory services.

Covalence strengthens UKG expertise and service delivery

With the integration of Covalence Consulting, HR Path aims to strengthen its specialized UKG expertise and expand its service capabilities for clients across North America.

“Covalence brings an exceptional level of expertise in UKG solutions, with a delivery culture that aligns perfectly with our vision,” Theodore Smith, partner at HR Path, said in a press release.

“By combining our teams, we expand our ability to support customers at every stage of their UKG journey, from advisory to long-term optimi[z]ation. This marks a significant milestone in scaling our UKG practice across North America,” Smith added.

HR Path added that the acquisition will allow both firms to broaden their service offerings and deliver additional value to clients through integrated capabilities.

Covalence Consulting will continue operating under the brand “Covalence, an HR Path Company,” with its leadership team and employees remaining in place to ensure continuity of service.

Raymond Nunn, president at Covalence Consulting, said the deal reflects a strong cultural and operational alignment between the two firms.

“Joining HR Path marks a significant next step for Covalence Consulting,” Nunn said

“Our shared values, unified vision, and complementary strengths create a powerful foundation for growth and truly amplify our team’s capabilities. By uniting Covalence’s specialised expertise with HR Path’s global reach and resources, we are ready to deliver meaningful impact and provide even greater value to our clients,” Nunn added.

HR Path recently announced another acquisition, that of U.S.-based Inspire Human Resources, signaling continued consolidation in the HR advisory and technology consulting space.

Growing consolidation in HR outsourcing and consulting

The deal highlights a broader trend of consolidation in the HR outsourcing and consulting industry, where firms are racing to scale digital capabilities and expand platform expertise amid rising demand for integrated workforce solutions.

As companies increasingly adopt cloud-based HR systems and seek unified payroll and workforce management tools, providers like HR Path are positioning themselves as end-to-end partners rather than niche consultants.

The acquisition of Covalence Consulting reflects how competition in the sector is shifting toward scale, specialization in platforms like UKG, and the ability to deliver seamless global HR transformation services.
