HR Path expands German payroll through HORN acquisition

PARIS, FRANCE — Paris-headquartered HR Path has bought Berlin-based HORN Payroll Company GmbH, adding a specialist provider of payroll outsourcing and interim HR services to its global network.
While the specific terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the deal provides HR Path with an immediate, on-the-ground service hub for German clients, at a time when compliance rules and cross-border expansion are driving demand for outsourced payroll expertise.
“Their [HORN] deep knowledge and strong client relationships in Germany complement our global capabilities. We can now offer more comprehensive and customized support to meet a wider range of HR needs,” said Carlo Fischer, Partner at HR Path.
Complementary services broaden one-stop HR portfolio
Founded in 2017, HORN Payroll focuses on fully managed payroll, statutory reporting and short-term HR cover for scale-ups and multinationals operating in Germany. Its consultants will join HR Path’s Outsourcing Practice, which already runs HR Shared Service Centres across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
For customers, the integration means they can now tap a single provider for advisory, SAP & Workday implementations, and day-to-day payroll processing.
“This step opens up exciting opportunities for our team and ensures our continued growth and success. We will maintain our commitment to delivering exceptional service while exploring new possibilities within HR Path,” added HORN managing director Steven Horn.
Global scale and solid growth trajectory
HR Path now employs more than 2,500 professionals in 28 countries, including France, Spain, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and the Philippines, supporting over 3,000 organizations with advisory, implementation, and managed services.
The group generated €215 million (US$252 million) in revenue in its last reported fiscal year and is targeting a 25% compound annual growth rate through a mix of acquisitions and cloud HR projects.
With HORN’s expertise at its disposal, HR Path asserts that it can provide German employers with a smooth transition from HR strategy design to fully compliant payroll operations, thereby reinforcing its goal to serve as “one-stop-shop for HR transformation” throughout Europe.
