Hybrid roles jump 29% in Q2 2023

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — The second quarter of 2023 marked a 29% year-on-year increase in job postings for hybrid roles, said data analytics firm GlobalData.
In its latest report, GlobalData revealed that the popularity of hybrid jobs — which blend office and home-working hours — surged while options for “remote work” and “work from home” declined.
This trend was especially pronounced in travel & tourism, retail, and financial services sectors as companies increasingly try to offer work flexibility while adhering to return-to-office policies.
GlobalData Business Fundamentals Analyst Sherla Sriprada said, “Businesses across certain industries are weighing more on offering flexibility in work, resulting in an uptick in hybrid roles.”
Major firms like Element Fleet Management, Flight Centre Travel Group, Albertsons Companies, Amazon.com, Wells Fargo & Co, and Hub International are found to be the key players driving the hybrid trend.
Sriprada added that the surge in hybrid roles “not only enhances employee satisfaction but also offers businesses a strategic edge in an evolving business landscape.”
