ibex to add 400 jobs in Honduras BPO push
TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS — ibex CEO Bob Dechant met with Honduras President Nasry Asfura and Minister of Investment Epaminondas Marinakys on August 10, 2026, to discuss business process outsourcing growth and investment opportunities, with the company committing to hire 400 new employees in Tegucigalpa by year-end, expanding a Honduras workforce that has grown to approximately 1,200 agents since the company entered the market in 2021.
According to a press release, the meeting addressed growth opportunities for Honduras’ outsourcing sector and opportunities to attract new investment to the country.
Five years of Honduras growth anchor nearshore strategy
ibex, a global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider serving retail, healthcare, fintech, and residential clients, has operated in Tegucigalpa since 2021.
The Tegucigalpa office recorded a 249% headcount increase in fiscal year 2024 as fintech clients expanded and new service lines were added, establishing Honduras as one of ibex’s fastest-growing delivery markets.
The company has also received recognition as Best Place to Work for Women in Central America and the Caribbean by Great Place to Work, and Nearshore Company of the Year from Nearshore Americas.
“Honduras is a key component of our nearshore service delivery strategy,” said Bob Dechant, Chief Executive Officer at ibex. “We anticipate further growth opportunities, increased hiring, and new investment.”
Presidential meeting signals government backing for sector expansion
Honduras President Nasry Asfura expressed support for ibex’s investment commitments and indicated the administration is open to the company doubling or tripling its Honduras workforce over the next two years.
The meeting’s inclusion of the Minister of Investment alongside the president signals that ibex’s Honduras expansion is treated as a priority economic development partnership rather than routine corporate engagement.
Honduras has positioned nearshore BPO as a key job-creation vehicle, with English-language capability and geographic proximity to the United States giving the country a competitive edge in attracting North American client mandates.
“The administration stands ready to support the company’s investments and future growth,” said Nasry Asfura, President of Honduras.
The 400-position commitment follows an earlier round in which ibex added approximately 10,000 square feet and 35% additional seating capacity to its Tegucigalpa facility.
ibex’s Honduras trajectory reflects a broader Central American pattern in which initial BPO pilots funded by government incentives have matured into anchor delivery centers with multi-year client relationships and expanding vertical depth.
