ibex opens 2,000 new jobs in Jamaica

KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm ibex opened 2,000 new job opportunities in its latest major job fair held last October 7-8 in Portmore, Jamaica.
The two-day job fair focused on hiring customer service representatives, as well as operations and field managers. High school graduates were encouraged to apply, as on-the-job training will be provided.
Highlighting the company’s focus on career development, ibex Jamaica SVP of Operations Tamara Ricketts-Brown shared that 80% of their mid-tier managers were promoted internally from the agent level.
“If you came in as a customer service representative and you have displayed all of the qualities, and we see the potential that you can be a manager, then we’re putting you through some courses to equip you for the next level,” Ricketts-Brown added.
ibex also showcased the unique benefits offered to employees, like an annual VIP weekend getaway for their top performers.
With a workforce of 6,000 and counting, Ibex continues to expand. Their stellar reputation in Jamaica draws more clients, fueling their consistent growth.
The new 80,000 square foot Portmore site is ibex’s fifth location in Jamaica, and second in Portmore specifically. Upcoming job fairs in Ocho Rios are also planned as the company expands its presence across the country.
ibex first entered the Jamaican market in 2016 and has since invested over US$50 million in the country, becoming a major employer in the BPO industry. Their rapid expansion has been fueled by client demand as well as their own technological innovations.
