IBM and Movistar Colombia announces new collaboration

Movistar Colombia, a telecommunications provider owned by Telefónica, partnered up with IBM’s open hybrid cloud architecture to create advanced solutions for its clients.
The company will start using IBM Cloud for Telecommunications – a solution that allows services to be installed anywhere whether in the cloud, on premises or on edge technology – in their systems.
Movistar Colombia will also join the IBM partner ecosystem and use IBM Cloud for Telecommunications, a solution that enables services to be deployed anywhere: in the cloud, on-premises, or on edge technology.
Both companies are aiming to develop solutions based on advanced technologies such as the cloud, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and blockchain.
CEO Fabián Hernández was quoted saying, “We are uniting the best of two worlds: technology and telecommunications,”.
This current partnership is part of a big collaboration between Telefónica and IBM. The company also announced its hybrid cloud business solutions at the MWC 2021 event.
