IBPAP honors top outsourcing firms, partners at inaugural Solaia Awards

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) recently held its inaugural Solaia awards ceremony to mark its 20th anniversary.
The industry body recognized several outstanding companies and government partners that have significantly contributed to the growth of the IT and business process management (IT-BPM) sector in the Philippines.
Key government and private sector recognitions
Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, Secretary Frederick Go, was honored as an “IT-BPM Luminary” for his substantial contributions to the industry.
The local government units (LGUs) of Quezon City and Iloilo City were also acknowledged for their exceptional efforts in facilitating ease of doing business and attracting IT-BPM investments.
Accenture and JP Morgan lead private sector awardees
In the private sector, Accenture was named BPM Company of the Year for its exceptional service, advancements in digital customer experience, and notable business growth. Accenture also received the Innovative Program of the Year award.
JP Morgan was awarded the Global Capability Center of the Year for its operational excellence and superior internal client satisfaction.
Other notable awardees
IBM was recognized as the Technology Company of the Year, Foundever as the Company for Regional Development, and Multisys as the Small and Medium Enterprise of the Year.
Additionally, thirty IT-BPM companies were celebrated as Great Places to Work for 2024, including Synchrony Global Services Philippines Inc., Cisco, Atlassian, and Teleperformance, among others.
IBPAP’s 20th anniversary, future prospects
During his speech, IBPAP President Jack Madrid announced that the Philippines’ IT-BPM industry is expected to reach 1.9 million full-time employees over the next two years, with export revenues exceeding US$40 billion.
Madrid emphasized the ongoing transformation within the industry, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence.
“As we look ahead into the next few decades, let us expect more change and more challenges,” Madrid stated. “Artificial intelligence will continue to transform our industry, and as it advances, so must we.”
The Solaia awards underscore the collaborative efforts between the government and private sector in driving the growth and global competitiveness of the Philippine IT-BPM industry, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
