IBPAP unveils campaign to elevate IT-BPM careers in PH

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is launching a rebranding campaign this September to help change the narrative around IT and Business Process Management (BPM) roles in the Philippines.
The announcement was made at the annual IBPAP Summit, with the campaign designed to position these jobs as avenues for long-term career growth.
“Many, our families even, still perceived our industry as not a long-term career option. We deserve to have a better perception, especially for those of us working in the industry for a long time,” said IBPAP CEO and President Jack Madrid.
This initiative comes in response to the high turnover rates in the IT-BPM sector, with 30-40% of employees considering job changes within the next six months, as per a recent member survey.
IBPAP recently joined hands with AI and programming training provider StackTrek to address the country’s surging demand for IT expertise. This partnership aligns with the goals of the Philippine IT-BPM Industry Roadmap 2028, which seeks to generate 1.1 million new jobs by 2028.
IBPAP and StackTrek aim to integrate industry-specific skills into higher education curricula and internships and launch nationwide IT career initiatives. The goal is to enable individuals and businesses to leverage AI, fostering industry growth and thriving in an AI-centric economy.
