Ignition CX fuels job creation in South Africa

DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA—Customer experience solutions provider Ignition CX is making significant strides in South Africa through impact sourcing initiatives, aiming to tackle the country’s high unemployment rate and foster community development.

South Africa’s unemployment rate, one of the highest globally, stands at over 32%, with disadvantaged areas facing even more severe challenges.
Ignition CX’s Activate Programme offers a unique solution to many young South Africans who are unable to secure a job without experience yet unable to gain experience without a job.
The program is a six-week intensive training course — two weeks of theoretical classroom education and four weeks of on-the-job training — equipping high-potential, unemployed youths with the necessary skills and knowledge to start their careers in the contact center industry.
Graduates of the Activate Programme are moved onto training for specific roles within the company.
The company’s Learning and Development (L&D) Department has an established career development pathway for employees to be guided along. It identifies high-potential employees within Ignition and facilitates continuous professional development in their field through further studies, conferences, and peer-to-peer training.
Aside from the program, Ignition CX also established the Ignite Training Academy, a fully accredited institute of learning with the South African Department of Education that can issue national certificates in industry-specific fields.
