IKS Health completes $557Mn TruBridge acquisition

TEXAS, UNITED STATES — IKS Health has completed its $557 million acquisition of TruBridge, a revenue cycle management and EHR provider serving more than 1,500 rural and community hospitals across the United States.

According to a report from Becker’s Hospital Review, this creates a combined entity that supports more than 150,000 clinicians and 2,000 healthcare organizations, with TruBridge operating as a wholly owned subsidiary and the deal financed through approximately $600 million in new debt.

TruBridge anchors IKS Health in rural hospital market

TruBridge’s 1,500-plus rural and community hospital clients give IKS Health a foothold in a segment historically underserved by advanced technology platforms — unlocking what IKS estimates at roughly $575 million in healthcare BPO cross-sell opportunities by layering AI-driven tools across TruBridge’s established client base in a market with a $260 billion total addressable opportunity.

TruBridge shareholders received $26.25 per share in cash, with the transaction expected to be accretive to earnings by fiscal 2027 and the deal positioned to reduce rural hospitals’ per-clinician burden from claims processing, medical billing, and documentation requirements.

“By welcoming TruBridge, IKS Health is extending its proven, clinician-first experience to the vital rural and community hospital market,” said Sachin Gupta, Founder and Global CEO of IKS Health.

System of record meets AI system of action

TruBridge generated approximately $347 million in revenue with $69 million in adjusted EBITDA — a recurring revenue base that supports the acquisition’s debt structure while IKS frames the integration as pairing its AI-driven ‘system of action’ with TruBridge’s EHR-anchored system of record, moving beyond data recording into active management of healthcare outsourcing and the operational challenges facing rural and community providers.

The combination positions the merged organization to deliver active management of clinical and financial operations for rural providers — combining prior authorization workflows, documentation requirements, and revenue cycle automation in a single managed services stack for providers that previously had to source these capabilities separately.

“I am excited for TruBridge and IKS Health to combine forces and expand the focus on strengthening rural and community healthcare. IKS Health shares our passion to improve provider experiences and financial results, ultimately leading to healthier lives and positive patient outcomes,” said Chris Fowler, President and Chief Executive Officer of TruBridge.

Rural and community hospitals lag urban health systems in technology adoption despite serving a disproportionate share of U.S. healthcare access points — and as reimbursement scrutiny grows and documentation requirements intensify, outsourced RCM and EHR are becoming essential infrastructure for smaller providers.

For the healthcare BPO industry, the IKS–TruBridge deal signals the convergence of revenue cycle management with AI-driven care enablement — and the emergence of rural providers as a major growth market for outsourced health system operations and BPO operators targeting the US rural health sector.
