Iloilo posted largest BPO office take-up in 2020, surpassing Makati, Ortigas

Iloilo City took up most Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) space last year, outpacing Makati, Ortigas, and Taguig, real estate agency Leechiu Property Consultants (LCP) said in its latest media briefing.
According to LPC CEO David Leechiu, the BPo sector took up nearly half (191,000) of the 389,000 square meters in office space demand in 2020. Iloilo then accounted for 48,000 sqm of the BPO office space. The city was followed by Makati City (35,000 sqm); Ortigas (27,000 sqm); Bonifacio Global City (24,000 sqm); and Cebu (16,000 sqm).
Leechiu added that firms are starting to consider areas outside Metro Manila for expansion projects.
However, he noted that the sector added just 34,000 sqm of office space in Q4 2020 – the lowest in two decades.
