92% of Indian recruiters expect hiring surge in H12024

NOIDA, INDIA — A recent survey conducted by Naukri.com unveiled a strong hiring outlook in India for the first half of 2024, with an overwhelming 92% of Indian recruiters anticipating new or replacement positions.
The Naukri Hiring Outlook Survey, engaging 1,200 recruitment professionals across diverse sectors, signals a robust job market in the country despite prevailing IT sector challenges.
Naukri.com Chief Business Officer Pawan Goyal highlighted the positive sentiment, stating, “Coupled with anticipation around hiring trends returning to normalcy, the overall hiring outlook, while calibrated, seems to be stable and balanced.”
Interestingly, the survey points to a significant demand for IT roles not just within the tech sector but across various industries, including business development and supply chain management.
This trend emerges even as the IT/ITES sector navigates through a downturn, prompting many professionals to seek job stability.
The survey also indicates a positive trend in attrition rates, with 75% of recruiters predicting they will remain under 15% in the first half of 2024. Naukri said that this suggests a slight improvement and a tendency among employees to stay put amidst uncertain global economic conditions.
Salary increments are also on the horizon, with 67% of recruiters forecasting raises of 5-15% across all levels during the next appraisal cycle.
A notable 24% is expected to offer higher increments, driven by strong growth in the infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, which are resilient to global economic pressures.
