Indian envoy shares high hopes for PH economy

As part of its efforts to revive the Philippine economy, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) is looking to further strengthen the country’s partnership with India.
In a courtesy visit to the investment promotions agency, Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu Kumaran said he feels “that fundamental trends indicate that the Philippine economy continues to grow positively and energetically into the future.”
The ambassador noted that both India and the Philippines can derive “maximum benefit” from the digital economy.
Kumaran also emphasized the importance of upskilling, reskilling, and transforming the workforce. Currently, there are around 28 Indian companies registered in PEZA, majority of which are IT-BPOs.
