India’s IT sector attrition to cross 1 million in FY2022

India’s IT sector is set to witness attrition of more than 1.15 million in the 2022 fiscal year (FY) with employees voluntarily quitting their jobs, according to specialist staffing firm Xpheno.
Xpheno CoFounder Kamal Karanth said that the attrition increase in the sector is primarily caused by company expansions this year and the hiring efforts of firms to cover vacant positions.
Experts said that the overall attrition in the industry has shifted from `highly involuntary’ last year to `highly voluntary’ in the current fiscal year.
Meanwhile, Leadership Capital CEO B.S Murthy stated that “the work-from-home (WFH) regime” made job hunting easier for tech professionals, leading to them “exploring multiple career prospects outside their current employer.”
IT services platform TeamLease Digital said that the tech demand in India increased by 40 to 50%, leading to a talent war in the industry.
