India’s ITeS/BPO sector records the highest job postings for women

The Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industries hold the highest demand for women employees in India at 30%, according to a survey by job search website Monster.com.
The Monster portal reflects 85,00,000 active women job seekers and around 7,800 women-specific jobs.
Meanwhile, the IT/Computers-Software sector is in second place with 24%, followed by Banking/Accounting/Financial Services at 13%.
The data was derived from Monster’s employment portal which currently holds over 8.5 million active women job seekers and 7,800 women-specific jobs.
Monster stated that this data signifies that emerging industries could play a role in increasing women’s labor participation over the next few months.
Additionally, more female professionals are showing interest in new-age tech-dominated markets and non-traditional job roles.
Monster.com CEO Chandra Sekhar Garisa said that women’s participation in the workforce — especially in top management roles — “is crucial as it paves the way for a more equitable and productive workforce in the country’s fast-changing employment market.
Industries such as Education (9%), ITes/BPO (5%), Hospitals/Healthcare/Diagnostics (4%) are also among the top 10 industries most sought after by women job seekers.
