Indonesian AI firm keen to invest in PH

Indonesia-based augmented reality (AR) technology provider PT WIR Asia, TBK is interested in investing in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the firm’s representatives had already reached up to them to discuss its plan to deploy one of its subsidiaries in the country with an initial projected investment of $20 million this year.
DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez said, “It is encouraging to see that despite the limitations brought by the global pandemic, we managed to maximize our partnerships with our neighboring countries and the entry of foreign investments to the Philippines.”
PT WIR Asia, TBK is one of the leading technology players in AR technology integrated with virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
It is considered the first Metaverse company in Indonesia and has opened its offices in the Philippines through the acquisition and investments of domestic Philippine companies.
Currently, the firm has five global patents for AR, which are registered nationally as well as in the Patent Cooperation Treaty that covers 153 countries.
