Infosys, Accenture execs take leadership role in India’s Nasscom

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic that has affected global IT and outsourcing industries, India’s influential National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has named its new leaders, from Infosys and Accenture.
During the association’s first-ever virtual executive council meeting, Infosys COO UB Pravin Rao was named chairman, and Rekha Menon, chairman of Accenture in India, was named vice-president. Nasscom’s chair is appointed for a one-year term.
While recognising that the Indian IT industry is facing challenging times, Rao expressed confidence that the industry will get through the situation, as it has done in the past, and emerge stronger and wiser. Rao said the industry just needs a focused approach towards building resilience. Currently, 90% of the industry’s staff are working from home.
