Infosys BPM Philippines pledges stronger workplace equality

TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES — Infosys BPM Philippines, the Business Process Management (BPM) subsidiary of Infosys Limited, teamed up with the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) to further its commitment to gender equality and inclusion.
Through the partnership, Infosys BPM Philippines will participate in PBCWE’s Gender Equality Assessment, Results and Strategies (GEARS) program. GEARS evaluates and tracks progress on gender equality initiatives over time.
With over 4,000 employees in the Philippines across 21 nationalities, Infosys BPM Philippines provides 24/7 business process outsourcing services worldwide. Women make up 53% of its workforce.
To promote diversity, the company has established employee resource groups focused on women, LGBTQIA+ individuals and persons with disabilities.
“Gender equality is not a checkbox in the corporate agenda; it is a crucial component of a thriving workplace and a principle that we must embrace wholeheartedly,” said PBCWE Chairperson Ma. Aurora Geotina-Garcia.
Country Head of Infosys BPM Philippines Ma. Rhodora “Ayhee” Campos said the collaboration will “help us improve our internal policies to continuously promote fairness.”
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) notes that the IT-BPM sector has offered many professional opportunities for college-educated women in the Philippines. Partnerships like this aim to increase women’s access to technology jobs and leadership roles through supportive and inclusive policies.
