Infosys opens new tech center in India
VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA — Outsourcing company Infosys has opened its newest tech center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The new facility can accommodate around 1,000 employees and allow greater flexibility for staff to work in a hybrid mode closer to home.
The center uses energy and resource-efficient green building standards, matching Infosys’ plan for future hybrid workplaces.
It will help Infosys attract, retrain, and upskill local talent to work on next-generation technologies like cloud, AI and digital services.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the tech hub tech hub, expressing confidence that the center “will not only give a massive boost to employment in the city but will also strengthen Visakhapatnam’s sustainability story through Infosys’ ESG commitments and efforts.”
Infosys is a publicly traded global consulting and IT services firm with over 300,000 workers and made $16.3 billion in revenue in 2022.
Over the last few years, Infosys has been aggressively broadening its international reach. In 2017, they announced the creation of 2,000 tech positions in North Carolina, United States.
By 2022, Infosys inaugurated a fresh branch in Calgary, Canada, amplifying the firm’s activities in the region.
This past July, Infosys Public Services (IPS), an Infosys subsidiary, launched a new entity in Canada, aimed at fast-tracking digital evolution for the country’s public sector entities.
