Infosys Foundation launches program to skill 500K job seekers by 2030
BENGALURU, INDIA — Infosys Foundation has pledged over ₹200 crore (US$23.2 million) to equip half a million Indian job seekers with digital skills and provide them with employment opportunities by 2030.
This endeavor will be executed on the Infosys Springboard platform, targeting both STEM and non-STEM divisions. It will collaborate with 20 organizations to address the skills gap in an AI-driven world economy.
India’s skilling crisis with an AI-ready workforce push
The Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program will also provide graduates and undergraduates with an industry-relevant curriculum, coupled with soft skills training.
Unemployment among young people is a perennial problem, and the program aims to establish a talent pipeline with skills ready to join the rapidly digitalizing Indian economy.
The program’s focus on AI and digital skills is driven by the increasing demand for tech-proficient professionals. Through partnerships with organizations such as ICT Academy and NIIT Foundation, Infosys ensures its learners receive practical exposure and a direct connection to job opportunities.
The action is an extension of the Indian government’s efforts to reskill the country in response to the global technological shake-up.
Public-private partnerships key to scaling livelihood opportunities
In addition to improving skills in technology, the initiative also covers modules in communication, time management, and interview preparation —skills that are essential but frequently neglected in formal education.
By matching underserved communities and making them inclusive, the tie-ups between Infosys Foundation and organizations like Magic Bus and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme will expand their reach to underserved populations.
This dynamic highlights the importance of group work in addressing the issue of unemployment on a large scale.
Sumit Virmani, Trustee of the Infosys Foundation, highlighted the need to align skills with industry requirements, particularly in the era of AI. With a goal of supporting 500,000 livelihoods by 2030, the program could become a prototype for corporate social responsibility (CSR)-based employment solutions.
Such initiatives can become crucial in ensuring that India maintains a competitive advantage, given the automation of jobs that is redefining job markets globally.
Infosys program aligns with global outsourcing impact trends
Infosys Foundation’s pledge underscores the growing emphasis on CSR in bridging the digital divide, mirroring the mission of Outsource Accelerator’s Outsourcing Impact Review (OIR) 2025 to highlight transformative industry initiatives.
Programs like Infosys Springboard—and the outsourcing sector’s broader CSR efforts—demonstrate how public-private collaborations can drive inclusive growth while future-proofing workforces.
This is a good example of game-changing stories, such as those presented by the OIR 2025, which promotes the ability of outsourcing companies to use their strength and impact social change, starting with education and livelihood creation.
By demonstrating their contribution to CSR, companies that aspire to achieve recognition for their efforts can also appeal to talented people and build a trustworthy relationship with their stakeholders. They can showcase their efforts in this year’s report and join others to highlight their invaluable initiatives.
