Israeli-Filipino pharmaceutical firm to make COVID vaccines in the country

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) revealed that an Israeli-Filipino pharmaceutical firm is looking to manufacture COVID-19 oral vaccines in one of the Philippines’ economic zones.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, PEZA Director General Charito Plaza said, “It’s really a big investment because they are considering [making] the Philippines the manufacturing hub of these oral COVID(-19) vaccines and other related medicines. They will make this the hub of the Asia and Pacific region, and even the whole world.”
However, Plaza has yet to share details about the firm, as well as the investment size and production timeline. These details will be revealed after the PEZA board approves the application.
“Next week we are expecting the scientists, the very inventors, who will come to the Philippines,” Plaza added.
