MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) formed a strategic alliance with infrastructure development firm Aboitiz InfraCapital Estates to encourage IT-BPM businesses to invest in Batangas, Philippines.
This move aligns with the Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap 2028’s goal to position the Philippines as a leading hub for digital services.
In partnership with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Batangas Provincial Government, this initiative seeks to generate employment and propel economic advancement in the region.
By 2028, the IT-BPM sector is projected to produce US$59 billion in revenue and 1.1 million direct jobs, with over half of these positions located in rural areas.

PEZA Director General Tereso Panga added that provincial ecozones like Batangas offer lower operational costs and attractive incentives, further enhancing its appeal to businesses.
Meanwhile, Aboitiz InfraCapital Estates Head Rafael Fernandez de Mesa emphasized the company’s efforts in nurturing local talent through educational partnerships, ensuring a continuous supply of qualified professionals for the IT-BPM industry.
Additionally, the Infrastructure Series shed light on current BPO market trends, particularly the transition to hybrid work models and the establishment of satellite offices, exemplified by the upcoming LIMA Tower One.
