IT-BPM summit 2025 in Manila to tackle AI future of BPO industry

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — Nearly fifty global technology leaders and outsourcing executives will gather in Manila on September 23-24, 2025 for the International IT-BPM Summit (IIS) 2025, a high-level meeting that aims to chart the artificial intelligence (AI)-driven future of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.
IBPAP summit gathers BPO, AI leaders in Manila
The conference, organized by the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), will be held at Okada Manila with the subject “Rewired for Value: The Global Wake-Up Call.”
The event will convene leading executives and experts to examine how AI, changing workforce requirements, and growing client expectations are transforming the outsourcing sector.
Notable speakers include Martin Wezowski, former Chief Futurist of SAP; Jimit Arora from Everest Group; Stanton Jones of ISG; Archana Seshandrinathan of McKinsey Singapore; and Eugene Acevedo, Vice Chairman of the Asian Institute of Management and former CEO of RCBC.
Their sessions will explore how countries like the Philippines can accelerate growth, bridge skill gaps, and expand into higher-value services beyond traditional voice-based support.
The summit also builds on the momentum of the industry’s 2028 roadmap, which the IBPAP says has already delivered 370,000 new jobs and $8.5 billion in additional revenue since its launch.
By the end of 2024, the Philippines’ IT-BPM workforce reached 1.82 million, generating $38 billion in revenue, a sign of resilience even as AI rapidly changes the playing field.
Summit outlines outsourcing roadmap for transition
AI disrupts and enables, and automating monotonous processes raises job displacement issues. However, it allows for reskilling, upskilling, and service expansion into data analytics, digital customer experience, and financial technology support.
The Philippines, recognized as the world’s call center capital, must change. In the age of AI, competition requires investing in both technology and people so workers can do higher-value activities that AI cannot replace.
This transformation will be mapped out at the summit, highlighting government, industry, and academia partnerships.
IIS 2025 marks industry turning point
IIS 2025, which is more than just a gathering of professionals, marks a turning point for the global outsourcing industry.
As BPO moves away from being labor-driven and toward becoming knowledge- and technology-driven, the Philippines has the opportunity to position itself not only as a hub for service but also as a hub for innovation.
The outcome of these debates may determine how the nation and the wider IT-BPM industry adapt to a world powered by artificial intelligence. This will demonstrate that success will be contingent on striking a balance between efficiency, creativity, and human skill.
